Yes, Tello may be a great deal for you.

You can find cell phone plans through Tello priced between $5 to $39 each month. There are no fees (no activation, maintenance, or early termination fees), there are no contracts, and Tello has nationwide coverage.

Tello’s phone plans include:

  • For $10 a month, you can get 1GB of data, plus unlimited minutes and free text messages.

Plus, many other options. You have the option to build your own plan when you are on Tello’s website so that you can have the most affordable option for you. You can mix and match the data plan and minutes that you want so that you can have the most custom plan for your situation.

Can I keep my current phone number if I switch to Tello?

I completely understand that this is a very important question when it comes to possibly switching the cell phone carrier that you use.

Yes, you can definitely keep your existing cell phone number if you switch to Tello.

Many people use this reason as an excuse for why they do not want to switch their cell phone plans or companies. But, this is an easy thing to do so that you can save money.

You can transfer your cell phone number to Tello for free. You can do this all online and Tello makes it easy to do so with their easy steps on their website. It usually takes anywhere from 2 hours to 2 business days for the transfer to take place.

Can I bring my own phone to Tello?

Yes, you can bring your own phone to Tello. You’ll simply want to make sure it’s compatible which you can do easily on the Tello website.

You can use one of Tello’s cell phones which start at just $129 (such as the LG Stylo 5), use GSM phones, or bring certain unlocked cell phones (unlocked iPhone models from 6 to SE and Nexus 5 to 6P).

Other Tello phones that you can purchase on their website include the Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, refurnished iPhones, and more.

I was able to use the iPhone that I already own with no issues.

How does Tello pay as you go work?

Tello has an interesting Pay As You Go service. You simply create a free Tello account, purchase credit, and then you can start using your pay as you go plan.

With their Pay As You Go plan you can make local, national, and international phone calls, send and receive text messages, and use mobile data nationally.

Does Tello work with iPhone?

Yes. I put my Tello sim card into an iPhone and it worked perfectly. I am able to make phone calls, text message others, use my phone as a hotspot for internet, and everything else that you would normally do with a phone.

Does Tello offer hotspot?

Yes! I was able to hotspot off my Tello plan and work just fine for several days in a row.

You can turn your cell phone into a hotspot with free tethering, so that you can connect when you need it.

Does Tello require a contract?

There are no contracts or fees with Tello. You can come and go as you please.

Do Tello minutes rollover?

Your unused data or minutes do not rollover.

How do I join Tello?

It’s easy to join Tello. Simply:

  4. Then, you’ll receive your Tello SIM card in the mail and you can start using your Tello cellphone plan

You can even bring your existing phone number to Tello, so you don’t need to worry about that.

Tello Review Summary – How good is Tello?

With Tello Mobile, you can get a wireless plan starting for just $5 a month. They have unlimited plans too, plus no contracts or fees.

You can even easily keep your existing cell phone number, so don’t let that hold you back either.

One thing you are missing. If you MANUALLY renew the monthly plan, the data rolls over!

Right now, I have over 10GB of data on a 1GB Tello, data/text only plan that is $6 per month.

I go in the night before the plan automatically renews, manually renew and the minutes roll.

    1. TB

Good advice, Eric. We never thought of that. We love Tello!
The only bad part is that there’s minimal coverage out West when we went on vacation.

      1. Eric

Really? It is T-Mobile cell coverage.

    2. This is a great tip! Thanks for sharing.

    3. Vivianne

Hi, Eric. How do you manually renew?

  2. Yes, for sure!

Their unlimited data plan is only $39 a month too, though ๐Ÿ™‚

  3. I think that’s a pretty good price for a phone plan. Especially for people who are looking to budget while starting side hustles and transitioning from employee to entrepreneur.

  4. If that cell phone plan comes with internet for $5, that’s one heckuva deal! ๐Ÿ™‚
