I have partnered with Rakuten in today’s article. Don’t forget to enter the easy $250 giveaway at the end too!How To Save Money When Holiday Shopping

The holiday season is here, which means that you may have some spending to do.

Between gifts, travel, clothing for yourself, and more, it may be an expensive month for you. In fact, the average person spends around $1,000 on just gifts for the holidays each year.

Some of the things you may spend money on include:

  • Presents
  • Transportation and travel costs, such as flying home for a holiday get together
  • Postage for any gift boxes and/or holiday cards
  • Holiday cards
  • Wrapping paper and tape
  • Holiday decorations for your home

That can be a lot of money to spend, and for some of you, you may be spending even more money.

If you still have some holiday shopping to do (which, I’m guessing is most of us!), there is one way to save some money this month and year round.

You can actually get cash back on your purchases, and it is super easy to do!

For example, if you typically spend around $1,000 this time of year, and you could get an average of 5% cash back, you may be able to put around $50 back in your pocket.

And, it literally only takes a few moments to do.

A popular cash back website to use is Rakuten.

Over 12,000,000 people use Rakuten for cash back and they have earned over $1 billion in cash back by simply shopping online.

I’ve been using Rakuten since 2013, and whenever I forget to use their website for cash back, I regret it!

It’s a no-brainer to get cash back as it doesn’t cost you anything, and only takes a few extra clicks and takes less than a minute to use.

Plus, Rakuten is the largest cash back website with over 3,500 stores to get cash back from (and, you can get up to 40% cash back!). If you shop online, there is a good chance that the store that you shop at will give you cash back.

So, what do you have to do to get cash back?

  1. Sign up for free here
  2. Then, you simply either just find the store you want to stop at and click on it, or simply use the Rakuten browser extension and shop like you normally do to get cash back on everything you buy.
  3. Just shop like you normally would and you will earn cash back.
  4. Then, you will get paid by PayPal or check from Rakuten

Yes, it’s really that simple.

With Rakuten, there is no monthly fee or anything like that too. It is absolutely free for you to use Rakuten.

In order to see the cash back percentage you will be getting from your online shopping, you simply just need to head to Rakuten and look at the percentage number next to the store name while you are on Rakuten’s website.

This will tell you the exact amount right there and you can see this in the screenshot below.

As you can see in the screenshot above, you can save a good percentage right now at the stores you probably already shop at, such as Target, Walmart, Macy’s, Backcountry, and more.

Right now, you can receive a $30 Welcome Bonus after you join for free with my referral link and place your first purchase of $30 or more in the first 90 days.

Also, Rakuten is co-hosting a $250 giveaway with me. Sign up for Rakuten using my referral link, and use the widget below to enter the giveaway. Good luck!

    Hello Michelle,

    Thanks a lot for sharing.

I will definitely check them out.

Getting easy cash back is beautiful when using cash back apps shopping online. People don’t think about how much gas they waste sitting at red lights and driving through congested traffic on the way to the mall how much MORE money they’re actually spending indirectly when they shop conventionally. Shopping online and getting cash back is the way to go today.
