Here is my Ibotta review.

The Ibotta app is a new way to save money on groceries. You MUST be using this app. Here's my Ibotta review so that you can learn why you should be using it.

Here’s an example of the Ibotta app and the cash rebates you’ll find.

So, how does Ibotta work? What is Ibotta?

Ibotta is a free money saving app that allows you to receive cash rebates at the store. It only takes a few moments to earn cash back, so using the Ibotta app is pretty much a no brainer.

How to get started:

  1. Download the Ibotta app
  2. Unlock rebates. Before you go to the store, head to the Ibotta app and unlock cash back rebates.
  3. Go shopping and buy the products you have unlocked in the previous step.
  4. Verify your grocery receipt by taking a picture of it with your phone. Then, you’ll get cash back!

See, it’s really that easy! Unlock, shop, and scan.

Do you really get cash with the Ibotta app?

Yes, you get real cash with the Ibotta app! You can choose PayPal, Venmo, or get a gift card to places such as Amazon and Starbucks. It’s all up to you.

What stores can I use the Ibotta app at?

Some of the stores that are included in the cash back Ibotta app include:

  • Target
  • Walmart
  • Food Lion
  • Kroger
  • Albertsons
  • Safeway
  • Schnucks
  • Costco
  • Dollar General
  • Walgreens
  • Old Navy
  • Macy’s
  • Kohls, and more.

There are over 300 retail chains, restaurants, movie theaters, pet stores, pharmacies, and more that you can use to receive cash back through.

Are the Ibotta deals all unhealthy items?

You may be thinking that the items you receive cash back for may be unhealthy or that they have to be a specific brand. However, it’s not like that.

For example, one of the items that I unlocked was a dozen eggs. It didn’t matter what brand it was or anything like that. I received $1 cash back, and it was extremely easy.

You can also receive cash rebates through the Ibotta app on items such as fruit, bread, vegetables, milk, and more.

My final thoughts on the Ibotta app.

I definitely LOVE the Ibotta app, and I think everyone should have it. It’s so easy to use, and you don’t need to clip any coupons in order to save money at the store.

Plus, you can still use “normal” coupons in addition to the Ibotta app. This means that you can save in numerous ways at the store!

You can click here to sign up for the Ibotta app and receive a $10 sign up bonus.

Well, there’s my Ibotta review! Are you interested in the Ibotta app? What’s your favorite money saving app?

I think the Ibotta app is great for in-person shopping, something that Ebates (my favorite cash back portal) has very limited capability. The family members I know that use it is primarily for groceries. We buy most of our groceries from places that do not participate with iBotta so we do not use it personally, but, we would if we did. It’s the digital equivalent of clipping coupons!

Looks like a great app as I spent quite a bit of time perusing it, only to find out it can’t be used in Canada! Darn it!

I tried out Ibotta and a few other shopping rebate apps about a year ago. It didn’t work for me personally. While initially the app lets you save money on whole foods like produce, after the first receipt scan it’s pretty much just for packaged goods. It’s great if you buy these things, but I cook most of my food from scratch, so it honestly wasn’t worth it for me. It’s interesting that they’ve started doing deals with retail stores, so that makes it a lot easier to get cash back.

My thought on these apps is that they’re worth it if you have a surplus of time and little money–the key is to buy things you were already going to buy anyway and taking advantage of the cash back.

Keep in mind that you’re the product for these apps, too! Your data will be collected anonymously for marketing and research purposes.

I LOVE iBotta. I found the app about a year ago and I have loved it ever since. I use it for almost all the veggies and dairy I buy.

I absolutely love this app! We use it all the time. There are rebates for fresh produce, dairy, bread, pasta, wine…and there are now entertainment, health & beauty, and child care rebates too. Scanning the receipts and product barcodes is very easy and really doesn’t take much time–if you’re dedicated to saving money on your shopping trips, then it is time well spent! There are plenty of ways to receive cash back, but we like to get the movie theater gift cards so we can stretch our entertainment budget a little farther!

I love Ibotta! I use it all the time – combined with coupons you can get some really good deals. I’ve gotten plenty of free stuff by combining the two!

I love cash back apps. I’ll have to try this one! I currently use Top Cash Back for online purchases and my Walmart savings checker for Walmart, but I’d love to use this for my grocery purchases. Thanks for the info, Michelle!

I just started using this app this month and so far so good. It’s a lot easier to use than I originally thought it would be, and I got a $10 welcome bonus! Woohoo.

Do you use it on your cell phone or Mac/PC? What do you mean by scan your receipt? Actually scan it w/ a scanner and upload it somewhere? Can it be used in the BayArea, Ca?

It’s a cell phone app. You just scan your receipt by taking a photo of it with your phone.
