Welcome everyone!  I’m very excited to start my own blog.  I have been wanting to do this for quite some time now, and I finally feel like I have time to pour into this.

I am a 22 year old with some debt.  I have a relatively small amount left on my car loan, around $25,000 in school loans (which includes both debt from both of my undergraduate degrees and 2 semesters of my MBA) and a house loan.  I do not have any credit card debt, and I never have had any.  I do have a credit card, but I pay the full balance every month and I have never carried a balance forward.

Me and my boyfriend bought a house at the young age of 20 very close to where I grew up.  I also have two dogs that I adore very much.   I have two business degrees and I am currently working on attaining my MBA, along with finance designations for my career.

What made me start this blog is the fact that I read countless articles on several finance websites (DailyWorth, Learnvest, Yahoo! Finance and so on)  and I decided that I would like to share the knowledge that I know and the knowledge that I am currently hoping to attain.  I feel that with creating my own blog, this will help me keep track of my success and help others along the way.

I will be sharing any frugal finds, investing tips, saving information, and the like.

It’s time to start Making Sense of Cents!

I love going back to the very start of a blogger’s journey to compare and see how far they’ve progressed over the weeks/months/years. It’s always good to remember where we came from to truly appreciate how much we’ve gained. I hope I can look back on my site in 3 years and be proud.

This is so inspiring to look back at your first post and see how far you have come. I have been reading your blog for some time now.. and it’s awesome to know we both started blogging at about the same age (I am 23 and just started my blog). Thanks for being an inspiration and providing helpful tips!

Wow, this is a WAY better title for a first post. I labeled my first post “The Beginning” and now I get web traffic from people looking for the beginning of time. They’re in for a surprise. #LessonLearned

    Good job!

Just stopped by to read your very first post too… I’ve just restarted my blog again that I started in 2010 and I’ve left it to deteriorate. Oh well… no time like the present to do some catch up. I find you inspiring and I’ve done your course to give me some new ideas and knowledge. Thanks for being the leader of so many of us bloggers.

    Michelle,

Thank you for proving your longevity in the game of side hustle blogging. You continue to inspire everyone that quitting their day jobs is the best thing one can do and take that serious leap of faith into full time side hustle entrepreneurship. I won’t be surprised if Bloomberg Television interviews you soon. Maybe James Pimm fox will see this post and contact you on the strength of me speaking up for you! 🙂

Awesome Success from a humble start! I signed up for your course, but never really completed it as Life throws so many things at us. Always wanted to start a blog and share my experiences as a husband, dad, and educator. Well, there’s no time like the present.
Thanks for being a Great Motivator and Inspiration….hope to be as big as you one day soon!!!

I always love going back to see how people got their start. This is truly inspiring to see how far you’ve come. Just started my blog, same as my name.

It’s truly a journey and you’re such an inspiration for thousands and perhaps millions of people who want to start blogging.

It does take a lot of work and it does take time.

    Thanks for the inspiration, Michelle!

Echoing the sentiment of these most recent comments. Amazing to see where you started and where you are currently and where you’re striving to be. I haven’t started my journey yet, but reading through your blog (and various others) is certainly providing a lot of inspiration.

    Continued success!
