We spend quite a bit of time in our homes. We eat, sleep, and gather for get-togethers in the home that should bring us a sense of joy and pride. Sometimes that space needs some upgrades so that we can enjoy the space more. There is a lot of ways to upgrade the home and make it your very own space. Today, we look at a few ideas, what you need to know, and how it can increase the value of your property.
Concrete Fencing Is Becoming A Hot Commodity
Concrete fence panels are becoming a popular trend in communities. In comparison to traditional fencing options, concrete fencing simply holds up a lot longer. Metal fences rust and wood fences rot, causing both needing regular maintenance and replacement. They are certainly a less expensive initial cost but factoring in the maintenance and replacement costs over time, they become just as expensive as the concrete panels. Concrete fencing goes up, stays up, and doesn’t need much care or replacement at all. Be sure that you check your property for pipes, underground electrical lines, and tree roots. By knowing what is along the fence line, you will ensure that you won’t damage anything in the process.
Stay Cool With A Pool
Summers can be easier to cope with when you install a pool in your backyard. Above ground pools are the easiest to install and most affordable option. Underground pools are a larger investment because of the requirement to dig onto your property. Both add significant value to the home, but an underground pool will add even more. Above ground pools are also something you can opt to move with you to your new home, should you not want to part with it. Underground pools and some above ground pools will require that your land is checked for sewer lines, power lines, and pipes so that nothing is damaged in the process. All pools require maintenance! You will need to keep water clean with filtration systems, skimmers, and vacuums. Chlorine and pH balance needs to be maintained to keep algae and other issues at bay. You will also need to empty the pool and cover it during the rest of the year to avoid any mishaps in the off-season. If you have children in the neighborhood or your own family, you will need to do some child-safety lock system to keep children from drowning.
She Shed To Keep Her Sane
The man cave has been around for decades, now women have decided they need their own space. She sheds have become a hot commodity in the homeowner world that can really keep the household happy. It can be a simple and small shed that is decorated to create a quiet and serene area to a big gigantic crafting area. You can buy a pre-fabricated shed or build one on your own. The big concerns are; electric outlets, heating, and cooling. You may have to employ an electrician to come out and wire up the shed, which can get a bit expensive based on how big it is. Heating could be as simple as installing a woodstove or a large space heater. Cooling can be as simple as a fan or opt for a window air conditioning unit. Not much has to be considered for the she shed outside the electrical concerns and how far she has to walk to it!
These kinds of upgrades can add substantial value to your home, should you decide to sell it later. All of these can add substantial value to your property because of the permanent structures they tend to be (even above ground pools!). Whether you opt for one or all these options, you can easily add thousands to tens of thousands to your home value!
