A year from now you may wish you had started today. ~ Karen Lamb
Excuses are what holds a person back. I know this because I hear excuses nearly every single day, and I have made many of my own as well.
I’ve made excuses for why I couldn’t leave my day job, why I can’t stop eating junk food, why I’m too busy to do something, why I don’t have the experience to do certain things, how it’s unfair that some people have certain privileges, and so on.
See, after my father passed away when I was only 18, I felt especially vulnerable and made lots of excuses for things. It felt like everything was very unfair since the person I loved the most had passed away.
I made excuses to skip classes, for why I had no time to do anything, why I was upset, why I shouldn’t look for ways to make extra money, and so on. I told myself that other people have help with everything and that I was all alone – and for some reason I thought it was okay to make these excuses since my dad had passed away.
This went on for several years. When things were good, I was happy. But, when things were bad, I would just blame it all on how my life was difficult and that I didn’t have a parent to help me get through it.

If I was tuned in earlier in life to the affiliate marketing, blogging, and making money online side hustle, I would’ve been in a much better place today. It’s all good because everyday is a beautiful learning experience and the grand opportunity to begin again. And I’m glad today that I got started with entrepreneurship despite things not right in my life because I’m making a positive difference in my life and others by showing up in the world and “doing the transformation business work,” going the extra mile in displaying the “business muscle for the hustle.” 🙂

It’s definitely important to stop making excuses. Set our goals, plan a strategy, and go ahead work towards them.
It may be hard in the beginning, but at least we fought for our dreams.
Nice article Michelle as always.

Hi Michelle,
I couldn’t agree more with you! Nice reply from Joao as well.
We’ve been struggling and making excuses about bringing out our own product, because hey, it ain’t simple to start-up, put a product on the market and set up a marketing strategy if you don’t have lots and lots of money you can invest in it. But at the same time we didn’t want anybody else to come up with our idea and let it get away. We have to fight to make our own dreams come true indeed.
Your story really is inspiring to us!
Kind regards,
Tine
P.S.: I’ve sent you an e-mail as well
