Sure. A timeshare is traditionally one or two weeks of vacation time per year at a single resort or hotel. Why are existing timeshare owners advertising their timeshares for rent for so cheap?
Sometimes owners find themselves in situations where they’re unable to use their timeshare in a given year and their week will not roll over to the following year. In this situation it is more beneficial for the owner to rent out their timeshare week and try and get something for it rather than let it go to waste.
Is buying a timeshare a good idea?
In could be, but only if purchased for the right reasons and on the secondary resale market. The key is research. These work similar to a timeshare, but aren’t necessarily called a timeshare. Typically, these are membership programs where you pay a certain amount upfront to become a member and then receive a significant discount whenever you stay at the park. If you RV a lot they can certainly be a good deal.
