With HyreCar, typical car owners can make around $1,000 a month through this website. They offer a great marketplace where people who want to drive for Uber or Lyft can rent a car to use.
So, if you have a car that you can rent out, this is the marketplace for you to check out! They have a great rental guide for drivers and a how to rent your car guide for car owners that I highly recommend checking out if you are interested in earning money doing this.

What exactly is HyreCar? How can a person make money with it?
HyreCar is essentially an Airbnb for Uber drivers. We have drivers who want to rent cars to start ridesharing for services like Uber and Lyft, and we have car owners who can list their cars on the website for rent.
If you have an extra car you can list your car on our site and earn money from the rentals.
If you want to try out ridesharing for a service like Uber or Lyft you can rent one of our cars for a few days and give it a shot to see if you like it. No contracts, no sign up fee's.
How much can a beginner expect to make?
There's not really “beginners” if you own a car you are just as qualified as someone who has been renting with us for a year. Typical car owners make around $900-$1100/month depending on their location.
What expenses are there?
Wear and tear of the car. It's free to sign up and we take a very small cut of revenue.
How can a person sign their car up?
You can sign up for HyreCar by clicking here.
We also have a very comprehensive guide for listing your car here: http://hyrecar.com/blog/rent-
What happens if there is damage to a rental?
Our insurance covers for accidental damage (up to $25,000) to vehicle and then Liability coverage (up to $300,000).
Do you accept all cars?
Yes, as long as they are Uber or Lyft eligible. Uber/Lyft car requirements vary based on state but typically anything after 2001 is eligible.
They also require in-state license plates, insurance, and current car registration.
What specific steps does a person need to take in order to make money doing this?
List their car on our site here: https://partner.hyrecar.
When someone applies, accept the booking and exchange keys on the agreed upon rental date. We send out weekly rolling payments.
Are there any tips that you recommend for someone interested in doing this?
We are still a young company. Right now is the best time to list your car. It's a car owners market. There's huge demand and rental periods are consistently 2-3 weeks. My biggest tip is get in now before the market is saturated.
- Use our driver invitation system – our highest earners really take advantage of this and never go a day without their car being booked.
- Complete your vehicle profile. The more pictures, description, and information, the better!
- Get your 19 point vehicle inspection done. This will make your car much more desirable to drivers as they will be able to simply pick up the car and get started
- Set weekly and monthly prices. This will make your car look like an even sweeter deal and will guarantee longer rental periods.
