Traveling to Europe is always believed to be a very expensive trip. However, that does not always have to be true. There are plenty of ways to travel to the UK and stay within your vacation budget.
When traveling, there are many costs you may have to pay for when traveling, so you should always try to stay within your budget. Some expenses you will have to budget for include:
- Where you stay.
- What you will eat and drink.
- How you will get around.
- What you will do each day.
- And more.
Because of all of the expenses that may come up when you travel to the UK, you might want to look into different ways to save money. Below are my tips to save money when traveling in the UK:
Save money on transportation.
How will you get to the UK? Will you fly in? If you are coming from outside of Europe, then you will probably be flying. To save on airfare, you may look into earning credit card rewards points (read How To Use Credit Cards To Earn Cheap/Free Vacations) to earn free or extremely cheap airfare to get you to your destination in the UK.
Once you get to the UK, you will then need to decide how you will get around from there. You can take a train, bus, car (you can find a cheap car hire in Belfast for example), or even walk in many areas. The prices for each can vary so it is best to do your research.
Save money on accommodations.
When choosing a place to stay in the UK, you have a few options. You can stay in a hotel, at a bed and breakfast, in a short-term rental, housesit and more. Housesitting and couch surfing would be a very affordable way to visit the UK as you probably wouldn't have to pay anything to stay in a place if you did that.
Have you ever been to the UK? How much did you budget? How much did you actually spend?
