If you've never brought your product to a trade show, then you should think again. A trade show can be a great place to display your product. There are plenty of people there to see your product, and you might even come across those who want to buy your product right away or at least refer you to a good lead of a person that they know.
Have good staff.
You want to have people working your booth at the trade show that know what they are doing. They should be knowledgable about the product, and they should also be friendly.
The last thing you want is someone trying to sell your product but they have no clue what they are talking about. Most customers will not buy from someone who doesn't even know their own product.
Also, you want someone friendly because bad customer service can really deter a potential customer. You don't want your reputation to be known as someone who is angry, feisty, or something else.
Attend a trade show that is related to your niche.
You want to find a trade show that will be worthwhile for you and your company. After all, you might have to travel to it, pay money to attend, and then also spend your valuable time setting up for it and helping potential customers and the media.
You should do your research as you where others in your industry display their products, where your direct competitors tend to go, and which one is the best as well.
Don't forget about your display.
If you are trying to display your product at a trade show, then you need something to draw potential customers and the media in. You don't want to have nothing because your booth may then look extremely boring and no one may even be interested in stopping at your booth. You have to remember that there are going to be SEVERAL other booths at this same trade show, so you will have to compete with them all.
Make sure you have a banner, banner stands, and so on. You don't want to forget about any of that, as it is all extremely important.
