Too Much Spending and Weekly Update

May has been a great month so far, except for this cough that I just can’t seem to get over.

Anyway, I had my bachelorette party this month and Wes had his bachelor party. Mine was a lot of fun and I’m sure his was as well.

Even though we both had a lot of fun, we are both happy to be home. I missed my pups a lot!

Spending

This past week has been a doozy for us. There has been so much spending so far in May that I kind of just want to run away from life! Haha just kidding… Kind of!

I went to Vegas last week, and Wes got from Vegas early this morning. We also bought clothes for both of our trips and had some wedding spending this month so far as well. It’s just a big month of spending for us, and it doesn’t plan on stopping until mid-June unfortunately.

Business Income

May has been a good month for income so far. I did take around 5 days off last week, but I’ve been spending the last few days catching up on everything. I’m not sure if May will be one of my strongest months, but it will be up there.

If anyone needs any help, check out my Hire Me page and let me know what services you are interested in.

Being healthy

Being healthy has been non-existant lately. Lets move on to the next category… 🙂

Wedding Planning

Our wedding is 3 weeks away. Isn’t that crazy?

Two things…

1. We are having a slight problem with getting the RSVPs back. We addressed and stamped them, yet we have only received around 40 RSVPs back (as of this morning), and we are still waiting on around 60 of them. The deadline is tomorrow so I guess I have a lot of phone calls to make in the next few days.

2. Also, I brought my wedding dress to an alterations place back in February. As of two days ago, I still hadn’t received a phone call from them even though they said they would call me in March about my wedding dress. I called the other day and it turns out they haven’t even started it yet, and they don’t plan on starting it until the day before my wedding. That is FREAKING NUTS, right?

I can’t be the only one whose jaw hit the ground, right? The day BEFORE my wedding and THEN it will be started?

I plan on finding another place to do it, but until then I don’t want to tell them because I don’t want them to ruin my dress because they get mad at me or something. Yup, I am that paranoid, but I know that happens…

Oh yeah, and we still haven’t planned our honeymoon. That’s one thing I am really looking forward to so I need to start thinking!

I would be so mad about the dress alterations! Starting the day before the wedding is ridiculous! At the very least, I would have thought the initial alterations would be done the week before, so you could do another fitting, and then they would have time to make any needed adjustments. I lot can change over 4-5 months!

I know. I was very surprised. It makes me scared! I’m OF COURSE busy the day before my wedding with meeting up with out of town guests, preparing the wedding rentals and the rehearsal dinner, so making the 2 hour round trip to the alterations place isn’t exactly the best time for me 🙁

I can’t believe your wedding is only 3 weeks away! Crazy! And we had the same problem with our RSVPs. We literally never got a bunch of them back and had to call or have parents call people. I thought it was extremely rude, but we couldn’t do anything about it. We actually had 2 people show up to the wedding that never RSVP’d. That was fun finding them a table.

That alteration place is a joke. Remember though, if they damage it, you can take them to small claims and you most certainly would win. You’d need a new dress for your wedding day, but at least you’d get your money back.

We had issues with getting our RSVPs back too, and we even gave people ample time to reply. If you can’t come, I don’t know why people can’t put the response in the mail… not that hard!

I hate when people being unprofessional! Didn’t you tell him the date when you need the dress? Especially when they said it should have been done in March… I mean, it’s your wedding and it’s like one of people’s most important events in life! Good luck for you with everything this month!

Income is doing OK this month. It has picked up since I created my new technical management service, but other parts of my income have slowed down like my writing. Just not enough time with the housing situation going on.

That is NUTS about your dress. No way is that cool. Also, don’t stress too much. My zipper broke the night before our wedding. My mother in law had to sew on hook & eye closures down the like 20″ zipper lol. Don’t stress too much!

Income has been decent. I’m now part time salary at a dog rescue! It’s not a lot of money, but it’s steady income each month for something I’m passionate about. And I can work whenever/where ever I want. Spending has been ok. We “splurged” and went out on a $20 date this week since I’ll be gone all next week in FL for a work trip and my poor husband is stuck at home 😉 Being healthy? Pretty good! We’re in the middle of our “only spend extra $$ on food” challenge so we don’t have much since we haven’t sold much of anything lately. Green smoothies every single morning. No snacks in the house. It helps being on a strict budget! And I’ve been spending time working out in the garden the last couple of days.

I can’t believe your wedding is coming up so soon. Savor every moment, even now. I miss that whole season of my life! 🙂 (That makes me sound old.)

OMFG about the dress! What if it doesn’t fit the day of the wedding? That is the stupidest thing I ever heard. Mine wasn’t ready until 2 days before the wedding because they did nothing between the first and second fittings. I know its too late for you now (and it was too late for me too) but anyone else getting married soon, a good tip is to tell the dress seller/maker/alterations that your wedding day is 2 weeks from the actual day. That way and the very latest it should be ready 2 weeks beforehand so if there’s any issues they can be dealt with. Definitely take your dress somewhere else! So sorry to hear you have to deal with this 🙁

That photo is actually how I look “spend all the money”! I have a craving for shopping at the moment but we’re leaving on a one-way ticket in a few months so I need to hold back.

I would just ignore everything up to your wedding! It would be so hard spending so much money, but I think it’ll be worth it 🙂

That’s just crazy about the dress alterations! Are they just so busy that they’re trying to push it off? Did they misunderstand when your wedding date is and are mixing you up with another bride? Do they say the alterations are simple so they don’t need a second fitting and time for a second alteration? Freakin’ freaks!
