Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard Review - Get $440 For TravelThe last credit card I applied for was the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®. I currently have a few other credit cards (you can read the articles How I Plan on Getting $2,500 in Airfare to Las Vegas for CHEAP and Are Rewards/Bonus Credit Cards Right For You?) as well.

I plan on using this new credit card for most of our wedding expenses and also for our normal day-to-day expenses.

I’m hoping to earn enough points to pay for our next vacation, or at least a part of it.

Here are features of the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®.

With the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®, you will earn 2 times the miles on all purchases.

This makes earning rewards much easier.

Another great benefit is that you will receive a complimentary online FICO® Score access for Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® members.

You can also redeem your miles easily with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®:

  • You can fly any airline, any time with no blackout dates or seat restrictions with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®.
  • You can redeem for all types of travel rewards – flights, resorts, hotels, cruises, trains and car rentals with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®.
  • You receive 10% miles back when you redeem for travel statement credits (i.e. redeem 30,000 miles for travel and get 3,000 miles back) with the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard®.
  • There are no foreign transaction fees. If you frequently travel out of the country, then this is very valuable! There is no need to pay foreign transaction fees anymore if you get the Barclaycard Arrival Plus™ World Elite MasterCard® credit card.

Do you have the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard?  What do you think of rewards cards such as the Barclays credit card?

Both my wife and I have the Barclaycard and spent the required amount for the $400 bonus. Now we just have to decide where we want to travel to!

Good review Michelle! Both my wife and I have churned it and just downgraded to the no annual fee version so we could avoid having to pay it. That version has pretty nice rewards as well, so it’s a win-win.

That sounds like a great strategy. So you got the great rewards + sign up bonus the first year with the waived fee and then the lesser rewards thereafter with no fee? I mean really it seems that the sign up bonus is the main benefit.

I’ve been saying that I’m going to apply for one of these cards for months- I should probably just go ahead and do it!

I read a similar post the other day, cant remember the blog after which I got quite excited. Unfortunately this card is not available in the UK even though it is a barclaycard.

I then remembered about AVIOS and it is not a credit card. Just a card you apply for and it is free, but you can use your regular purchases that adds up to airmiles. You can then use those miles towards cheap holidays. They also have a calculator to see what type of bargains you can get based on your usual spending habits.

Just thought I would mention it for any UK resident reading your blog like me.

Wish we could, but my husband and I can’t be trusted with credit cards. 🙂 At least we’ve learned our limits and what we can and cannot handle. We’ll be good for a few months and then go on spending sprees. We’ve learned that for us (at least) credit cards are an absolute no-no.

There is no shame in that Sarah. I’m horrible with cash, but I do better with credit cards. Everyone is different.

🙂 I’m REALLY good with cash. I think it is the “seeing the money”. I will hang onto cash until I absolutely have to spend it.

I’ve been thinking about applying for this card just for the $440 travel benefit so I appreciate the comprehensive review! We don’t carry a cc balance and we could hit the required $3K spending in the 90 days since we charge all our expenses on our cc to earn reward points.

Thanks for the review Michelle. I have the barclays US Airways Arrival MasterCard which is similar but US Air specific. I really liked the big miles sign up bonus, but now I think I’d like to explore other airlines! For instance I’m flying my first Southwest flight this summer!

Too bad I didn’t know about this Barclays credit card offer back then. It might’ve helped build my credit faster to reaching an 800 credit score. It’s all good thought because everyday is a new day in the bonus round. 🙂
