Me and W currently live in a house that we bought 4 years ago, but every now and then we think about what it would be like if we lived in a condo.
Condos where we live aren't the norm, but in bigger cities they definitely are. Whether you are looking for your perfect house or condo, there are many things that are similar when looking for YOUR perfect home.
Do you want to live right downtown? There are many positives for this, such as being close to everything, the possibility of not needing a car, and so on.
Since I do plan on switching to self-employment, this is something that I have been thinking about a lot. Right now, our home is pretty boring, but I guess that is also good because I won't be easily distracted.
A tip that I have when buying a new home: drive around the potential new home at different times during the day and night. This way you can get a realistic feel for how the place is. You never know what it may be like at night-time. It might be awesome, or you might find out that the place is not the perfect fit for you (and/or your family).
The living space
How many bedrooms do you want? Or how about how many square feet would you like to have in your condo? We currently have around 2,400 square feet of living space, and sometimes we feel like this is too much, and sometimes we feel like this is too little. Ha, different days and we have different opinions!
There are many different ranges for homes of course. Maybe you can go the minimalist route and buy a small home that is less than 500 square feet, or maybe you want a lot of room for your growing family, and want something much larger. Determine how many bedrooms and bathrooms that you need.
Don't forgot about living room space, kitchen space, closest space (this is always important, right?) and so on. Making a list of what you want and what you do not want can be very helpful, and it can also speed up the researching and buying process.
Are there certain amenities that you would like your condo building to have? Some condos have pools, rooftop terraces, gyms and spas in condos for sale Montreal.
Having certain amenities would make life so much easier to have everything so close to you. It would also make for a much more efficient lifestyle with having many amenities in your condo building.
Do you have a condo? What made you choose your specific condo?
