Do you invest? I'm hoping that you do because saving for retirement is very important! However, maybe right now you are heavily focused on paying off loans, just like I am. Right now my student loans are taking over my life and i don't do much investing in the stock market. I do dabble a little bit, but not nearly enough as I wish I could be doing if I didn't have student loans.
My plan is to aggressively attack my student loans and then after that start to more aggressively save and invest. I want to be able to retire somewhat early. Well, scratch that, I want to be financially independent and pursue what I love in life. Investing and saving now will help me reach my financial independence later in life.
Today's post is an introduction to online trading. Because maybe you are similar to me and haven't done much with online trading. Maybe you haven't done any trading online. Maybe you are young and have no clue where to start when it comes to investing and online trading! Well today's post should be very helpful then 🙂
What is a stock investment?
So what is a share? You are probably wondering this before you spend all of your hard earned money on stocks. A share is a part of a company that you buy. When you buy a share, you are then a shareholder. So how can you make money with a share? Either with capital gains or with dividends. You might receive dividends from a share of stock that you are invested in, or you might decide to sell your share of stock and receive a gain over what you originally paid for it.
Online trading can be easy
Many people own investments in the stock market. It doesn't have to be difficult to get started. Once you start, it is easy to get the hang of it. There are different methods and theories for investing, so you will have to determine that on your own. Different people have different risk tolerances especially when it comes to such an important financial aspect of their lives – retirement.
When you submit your stock buy or sell, you are working through a broker. This is the person who is trading the shares of stock for you. With online trading, you are using an online broker which means that you are requesting the online trades yourself, instead of through an actual broker.
