When you think about all of the holiday travel that is going on right now, you are probably thinking about cars and planes. However, traveling by car or plane can also bring a lot of hassles to your travel plans.
What about taking a ferry? I have honestly never taken a ferry, but with some future traveling that we are thinking about, I was given the opportunity to look more into it.
Traveling by ferry is something that we definitely want to do soon. I always see such great pictures from other bloggers and it makes me incredibly jealous. Of course I would still have to take a plane to the port (since I live in the Midwest) but it wouldn't be as bad as if I had to take multiple planes to get to where I truly want to go.
There are many positives of traveling by ferry:
1. Less cancellations.
Especially with the rough winter weather, there are less cancellations with ferries than with airplanes. There are thousands of plane cancellations and that just brings so much hassle.
With a ferry, you have more options when it comes to traveling. You can stop at many ports on your ferry and explore more places. And with the many cheap ferries out there, it makes the value even greater.
3. Less things to worry about.
With a ferry, you can just sit back and truly enjoy the transportation part of your vacation. Whereas this is totally different if you would have taken your vacation by car. If there are car troubles, the weather goes wrong, you don't feel like driving because you are too tired, there are things that can go wrong.
And with airplanes we all know the negatives! Long waiting in lines, delayed flights, layovers, and so on.
