Hey everyone! I’m posting a little later today, and I’m sure you all noticed 😛

I’m constantly thinking about vacations, I’m sure you all have noticed. However, from now on, it seems as though I’ll just be dreaming about them! The boy can’t take a vacation until next Summer most likely, and he can’t really go on short trips because he doesn’t have two days off in a row. Instead he is off on Thursdays and Sundays (oh the joy of him working at a car dealership).

But I still love thinking about vacations and planning a future one. And I also have a bachelorette party to plan for next year so I am of course getting way ahead of myself and thinking about that!

I don’t plan on spending a crazy amount (to us) on a vacation for awhile, and I do want to plan a semi-cheap but still fun bachelorette party. We all decided that we want to go to a place that has a nice beach.

Of course we plan on looking for cheap city breaks and cheap package holidays for this vacation, as some of the girls are still in college as well.

Any tips on an out-of-country bachelorette party and how to save?

I've never been to an out of country bachelorette party! That's an awesome idea. I wish I could do something like that for mine but I don't want to put too much pressure on my bridesmaids.

A few years ago, hubby and I spent $865 each (with taxes) for 5 nights/6 days all inclusive including airfare to Punta Cana. The resort wasnt a 5 star but it was really fun and had several restaurants to choose from. Ocean Blue Resort. The DR has lots of affordable all inclusive options, especially if you are flying from a big city like Atlanta or NYC. Cheap Carribean is a great site…Im sure you could find something for 3 nights + airfare for very cheap and it would include all your food/drink/activities :)!

Sounds expensive! Hopefully everyone has budgeted for it and truly wants to go instead of just agreeing to not sound cheap!

You could do like a 4 day cruise to the Carribean for pretty cheap. Although if any of you get seasick I wouldn't recommend it.

Lia has a lot of great pointers. A lot of foreign countries (especially in Latin America) will offer all-inclusive fares and hotel rates. Definitely start looking early, so you can get a good idea of the prices. Booking as a group always gives you the best results, though. Good luck with that!

With the boy not able to take vacation for a while looks like you can build up a pretty good vacation fun and go on an epic one. We are planning on taking our boys to Spain in a few years so we are not going to be going on any mega vacations for a while either. We will still do small things though.

Would you ever consider taking a vacation with a friend or by yourself, without your boyfriend? How would he feel about that?

He wouldn't care. I've gone on vacations with my friends without him and he never minds. All of our boyfriends/fiances are good friends with my boyfriend (but not with each other, the boy seems to be the middle point of them all), so luckily he would have other people to occupy him 🙂

I have been obsessing over vacations for a few months now too ! It is so excited to finally be thinking about vacations as something I can save towards instead of "I have no money and can't afford to spend $2000" which is what I have been thinking since I began school. A girl's vaca out of the country would be fun, I've heard that Mexico has great resorts compared to some of the other southern islands

Since you are financially responsible, I would looking into the "travel hacking" world and consider churning a couple of credit cards to amass some frequent flyer points and hotel points. You could get the Chase British Airways Visa and fly to South America in business class. Get a hotel card or two (Hyatt = two free nights, Hilton Cards offer either weekend nights or points to use). This would cut down on expenses and you could get the points just doing your everyday normal spend!

But if you aren't comfortable with that, I totally get it. It has been a struggle to get my wife on board, but she is coming around and enjoy the perks!

Maybe Mexico? If you only go for a few days you can probably get a good deal? And I also think about vacations all the time. Sometimes it's the only thing keeping me going during the dreary winter months!

Thailand or Brazil would be awesome! Definitely would like to hit up both of those countries sometime in the future. It's too bad to hear about your boyfriend's work schedule, but you can really save up some cash for future vacations because of it.

I was just thinking about how fun it would be to go to Brazil, but that is probably a long time off before we could do a big trip like that. I love planning for a trip. It's exciting to have something to look forward to.

Maybe a 3-4 day cruise or someplace in Mexico, as has been suggested could work. I know for certain that there a lot of deals to be had with shorter cruises.

Dude, if you can do Thailand for cheap let me know! I don't know how much you can spend but if you want out of country I'm thinking your best bet will be caribbean I've been to Cuba and love it and most of my friends like DR.You can get an all expenses paid (booze and all) for under 1000. Mexico is beautiful but there's been too much violence (against tourists) lately for my liking. Check out Casta Rica too.

We really just got in the financial position to start traveling and I cannot wait! Our first overseas trip is booked and paid for for this upcoming February and I am counting down the days!

For a bachelorette trip, there are a lot of cheap deals in Mexico right now. We thought about going there but decided to go elsewhere but you can seriously spend a week at an all inclusive in Cabo or Cancun for $900 per person including your flight. Its crazy cheap.

You should 100% go to Thailand! I have been 3 times and Mrs Scot and I got married there in January this year… The place will change your perspective on life and how you think about things. You will understand what I mean when you get there… I never get bored of it either… If you do end up choosing Thailand give me a shout for some insider tips 😉

Both of the locations you mention sound fun but they are not cheap to say the least. Again I guess it depend on what you consider cheap because the flights alone are going to cost. My wife would love to visit Thailand but she would probably not want to spend the funds to go there.

It suck that "the boy" has to work those crazy days but hey its a job so gotta do what you have to do. Costa Rica and Mexico are nice.

My vote is for Costa Rica! You can still find some good deal, it's easy, but still feels like somewhere different. I've been there 3 times and love it!

I would choose Brazil. How great to experience their music and dancing. I would really enjoy listening to street or beach jazz and dance to samba with the locals. And their clothes are simply colorful and gorgeous!
