I’m always talking about things that I want to do to our house. I’m always wanting to finish my closet, finish decorating, put new carpet in the living and so on. The list really is never ending.

The long list I have sometimes worries me, because it’ll definitely cost some money.

There are many ways that you can shop online to save money. From shopping online for groceries and wine (and having them shipped to you to save on time), you can also looking for ways to save online as well.

There are a ton of do-it-yourself websites out there that can help you save a lot of money, all while making your house look super nice. My favorite site is Young House Love. I could seriously look at that site for hours (and I have).

We plan to kit out our house for less. Some things will be difficult, but I think it’ll all be worthwhile since I like to add a personal touch to things in our house.

Some things we plan on doing:
Our house has no curb appeal. If I showed you a picture of the front of my house, you would probably laugh. When the weather is nice, our grass still doesn’t grow. We have branches and twigs all over our yard as well. And now that it hardly rains here and there are asking us to watch how much water we use, everything is dead as well.

Add plants. We don’t have any nice plants in our yard either (besides trees, our annuals, dead grass and some dead bushes). I would like to add some nice plants and preferably plants that are natural in our area. We have a garden area already set up in front of our house, and sometimes things grow, and sometimes they don’t. I would love to plan some nice flowers there.

Outside lights. Right now we have a front and back porch light, but nothing else really. I would like more lights in the back and nice lights in the front of the house. Who wants to be the sad dark house on the block? Not me!

Install carpet. This is something that we’ve been slacking on for quite some time. We tore up the carpet in the living room and haven’t replaced it. The hardwood underneath is liveable, but we would really like carpet. We’ve shopped around and are now thinking about when the best time would be to start this.

What do you need to do around your house?
