I’m a Workout Failure

I’ve been failing with my workout goal. I think I’ve only worked out once this whole new year. BAD! I keep telling myself that I’ll go, but just sitting on my couch and in my pajamas sounds so much better. Anything sounds better actually.

My goal is to get more toned. I want nice legs, abs, and just to be tone all over. I’m going to do this by eating healthy (like the picture above) and working out more (or just working out at least once). I at least want to go running with my dog at least every other day.

I need to start working out now! We’re leaving for our vacation in exactly 2 weeks.

I pinned a bunch of these recently. I want to erase any arm flab, get nice legs, eat healthy, found a cheat sheet, and the main thing I’m working on:

ABS!

My goal for everyday or at least every other day is to work on my abs and legs. Wow am I going to be sore. I’m most likely just going to do as many of these until I pass out. Good plan huh?

  1. Crunches
  2. Leg lifts
  3. Squats
  4. Push ups
  5. Planks
  6. Anything P90X…
Have you been working out? How’s it going? What are your goals?

This is my second month of wearing a pedometer, and it is really helping me walk more steps! I've started to do crunches, but now my stomach hurts when I laugh 🙂 I want to do more but I need to find the time.

I'm finally on track w/ my fitness goal of going to the gym 3x per week. And, actually, I'm going 4x – Tues, Thurs, Sat, Sun. My goal right now is to lose weight so I'm mostly focusing on cardio, but have added a little bit of strength training, mostly for my arms and back.Good luck working out before your trip!

I fell off the wagon after a series of flu/colds in january and february but now I am back to my 4-5x runs a week. I want to beat my 10K PB. Planned originally on participating at an april race but now because I didn't train as much as I was supposed to in jan/feb, I need to wait for another 10K in june. 🙂

I just go during lunch at work because I never get any motivation to go once I'm off. All I want to do is go home, eat, shower and then study. If I go during my lunch it's way better than being in the office and I get to get fresh air and see friendly faces at the gym haha. I go Monday-Friday unless I have work meetings that conflict, and then on the weekends I try to run with my dog. I used to go to classes at the gym on weekends but they switched up classes recently and I'm not into the new schedule. I also got the Insanity dvds which have been kicking my butt.. I only did it once and I was dying! Sooo difficult haha. Don't kill yourself with the abwork, start off with a goal like doing 3 reps of 15 for each, that way you are evening out all muscles and sides!

I have been lazy although it has been a mild winter! But what keeps me from totally lapsing is that I run with my dog and if I miss more than a day or two in a row, she becomes impossible to live with. There are other folks who can make me feel guilty, but no one bugs me about it as much as the dog!

Good luck with the fitness goals Michelle. Perhaps it would help to treat it like budgeting and write down exactly what you want to do each week. Then post that plan on here to hold yourself more accountable.

Good luck to you! You're not a workout failure, you've just got to find what works for you! I've actually eased up on my fitness goals because I found that I was getting mad at myself when I wasn't meeting them and it was just a vicious cycle. I take it one day at a time. Workout today. That's it!

I saw this thing on fb…some girl turned Harry Potter into a workout. Reminds me of a drinking game only good for your body lol. Here's the link :https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150595936118314&set=p.10150595936118314&type=1&theaterI don't know if you like Harry Potter, but I imagine you could do this with any favorite movie/TV show. And stay in your PJs!

I have been going 5 times a week and I try to do a walk or hike or gardening after work or on the weekends. It's been rough but I make myself go even if I don't feel like it and normally will be fine 5 minutes into it. Is there someone you can go with? That was what helped me out a lot.

I've been doing Bodyrock.tv and have seen great results! I like it because it's something different everyday and it's only 12 minutes! That is my favorite part.

YES, I have been working out but it took me a while to get to that point where I could go to the gym instead of go home to my pajamas. It's super hard but seriously once you get in the zone you will be able to do it without thinking twice. I even dare I say enjoy it now!! Toning was also my goal and my obliques are comin' in! You really just have to force yourself. I started out small just committing to twice a week at 30 min.

Working out can be a lot of fun if you do it with a friend. I go to the gym with my work buddies during our lunch break. 30 minutes, twice a week.

I began working out 5x a week last March 12th. I do cardio 5x per week and strength 3x per week. i give myself off weekends. I have lost about 45 but have lots to go. I eat the same lunch everyday (babygreens, almonds, craisins, apple, chicken breast, low fat cheese stick and mango salsa). I am not good with choices. Food is harder than exercise to me. Glad I found your blog.

I work out 4 times a week for 1-1:30 hours a day. Although, I am far from in the great shape. I just do this so I can continue to eat all the bad food I love so much without gaining extreme weight.

Im an utter fail at this too. I mean how hard can it be for me to exercise, only a half an hour a day, especially since I am not even working now, but like you–my couch and computer look much more inviting!

Aw, don't be so hard on yourself! But honestly, taking that first step (away from the couch) is the hardest. The rest is downhill. I've learned that I can talk myself out of everything…so in order to prevent this, I just go braindead and head out the door. :-)XO – Marion

I have not been doing all that well AT ALL. I've been to yoga four times this month and my eating hasn't improved all that much… I leave for vacation in 2.5 weeks and I totally feel your pain. Maybe I'll take your route and just do crunches till I pass out 🙂

I've been working out for over a month now ( started in august) combined with a calorie counter app on my android phone and my cherpy wii fit I've been doing quite well. I haven't lost weight but rather my goal was to become more toned and to make my body stronger 😀 like you have.Doing around 25-35 lunges a day with paralell stretches ( planks) , jack knives and yoga I've seen a tiny change in my tummy becoming slightly flatter and my legs feeling much more stronger so I think it is possibly working :). Hope yours is going well for you!
