Over at Live Simply-Live Well, there have been really funny and interesting weekly confession posts, and I thought I’d join. Here’s what I’ve done this week that I need to confess:

  1. I always text my friends and tell them I’m driving and I’m super close, but most of the time I’m not even done being ready.
  2. I spent way too much money on Friday. I’d like to not talk about the amount too much. Just thinking about it gives me a headache. However, I think I’m still going to be under budget for Christmas. So that’s good!
  3. I’m a craaaazy dog person. I bought an $80 dog mattress (yes an actual mattress) on Friday.
  4. To everyone who waited at retail store for Black Friday for a whole entire week (and had tents), I don’t understand you. If you worked for that whole week you would probably make more money than what you are saving. And you would probably be more sane, less hungry, not sick from the cold and more comfortable.
  5. I’ve been telling myself all week that I will do homework and get ahead in my classes, but nope. Haven’t done anything this week that was productive (outside of work).

What are your confessions?

Hahaha! I worked on black friday. We did not open until 9am. We had customers who started lining up at our doors at 6am! Another customer told us they drove by our store and saw these people outside with fold-out chairs, parkas, and blankets! I work at a furniture store!!! I couldn't believe that people had been lining up THAT early to get "deals". Some of the deals were good, but I couldn't imagine freezing my butt off just to get a piece of furniture on sale. Especially when we have sales ALL the time. Then there is the guy in Cali who camped out for a WEEK in front of Best Buy.

One time a friend texted me to let me know she had left her place and was on her way to meet me. This was a terrible plan, since I could see her house from the restaurant, and watched her leave five minutes after she texted me. FAIL!We don't do Black Friday in Canada, really, but Boxing Day is pretty big for sales. (Not NEARLY BF big, but people do line up before the stores open) I have always sworn that the $50 I might save on a TV is NOT WORTH getting up first thing in the morning and waiting in line in the freezing cold for four hours, in the middle of December, the day after Christmas. I totally don't get it. I might mosey over to Best Buy around noon and see what's what, but I'd never get there first thing.

Ha! My parents are known for the "I'm almost there" when they are between 25-45min away. I guess I have them to thank/blame that I am always 10-15min early!

I am always early and always tell my kids we have to be somewhere 45 minutes before we do so they will be ready. Only my son inherited my early gene :)I went to Target at 2 in the morning but only for 41 minutes

Confession: I never post my weekly spending because I'm too embarrassed by how much I consistently overspend on my "Dining Out" section of my budget. This week put me way over.Confession: I was so tired from the weekend festivities that I feel asleep on my BF's grandmother's couch during their family Thanksgiving get together. Thank goodness it was only for a few minutes!

Love it! I went shopping on Friday (more like Thursday night…can't believe how early stores are opening now–it's a crime against turkey!!). I pulled into the lot 5 minutes before the store opened, sat in my car for another 10 while the epic line weaved its way into the store, walked inside without waiting outside, got everything on my list, and was out of the store in 24 minutes! That's my kind of Black Friday shopping…haha!

Amen to number 4!!! If I even bother with Black Friday at all I go later in the afternoon. Partly because I hate the crowds, but now it's more so because I'd rather support small businesses as much as possible when I do my shopping.

I can relate. Except the last point is about work. And I would just add that I love dogs more than I love some people, and I don't even feel bad about that.
