Yes, another shopping post.

We tried Black Friday shopping last year, but the lines were so bad that we ended up just leaving and not buying anything. The line wrapped around Target twice (they had tape on the ground to mark where you were supposed to stand, and the line was literally over 6 hours long (they announced it on the intercom). So we decided that it wasn’t worth it.

However this year we decided that we are going to try again. There are a lot of things that we are getting for ourselves and others. I don’t want to go, and I’ve actually begged the BF to not make me go, but we’ll see.

A camera, laptop, Xbox360, Playstation 3, Blurays and other things. So there’s a lot of potential savings, as long as we get in line early enough and can run fast enough.

However, I doubt this will actually happen, but here’s to hoping.  Me and the BF went to Target and drove past Walmart last Thursday, and there were ALREADY people camping out. And I’m not talking just 1 or 2 people, we saw around 10 to 15 at each store.

Have you noticed any lines outside your stores?

The BF found it for $150 somewhere (I can't remember) and xbox with kinect is $250 (I think at Best Buy) and that also comes with a $100 gift card.

I have tried black friday a couple times, and didn't see any point in it. Maybe I was not lucky enough to find really awesome deals like others had bragged about.

I've never tried shopping on Black Friday, but if it remains as intense as it has been the past few years I can't imagine ever trying it. I don't like shopping at the best of times, and I don't like crowds. Also, my time is worth something to me, and I can't imagine sacrificing a day of time with family (who I only see 2-3 times a year as it is), let alone a whole week lining up to get in.

I've only done the Black Friday thing twice. I wasn't really a fan. And the year I'm trying to do as much shopping as I can from crafters and small businesses, so the Black Friday thing doesn't really apply. 😉

I do Black Friday every year, I do save a lot of money but it can be hassle if you're not prepared or if you hate crowds. We go with lots of folks and tag team (someone would stand on line while the other shops). Walmart will always have more product than any other store including Target. If you're looking for something specific that Target has, Walmart also price matches so check their Black Friday policies. The great thing about this year is, Walmart and BJ's have already started black friday sales online including TV's so you can buy them now and have them shipped to the store for free. For the Xbox 360, Sam's Club has the 250GB Holiday Bundle for $200. Happy Shopping! and Yup I'll be one of the crazy people out there, with my coffee in my hand.
