I have a gym membership (read my past blog post about how I’m wasting my money on this here) which cost only $10 a month, but I never go. I bought it so that I can get more toned.  I don’t really need to lose weight, I need actual muscle.  The BF always makes fun of me because I’m so weak looking.

My friend is also on a diet, which is insane because she’s skinny and beautiful, but she thinks she’s gained weight.  We both eat a TON though, so her goal is to start tracking her calories.  She’s started tracking mine also (against my will because I’d rather not know).  We each eat about 4,500 to 5,500 calories a day.  WOWZA. I promise I am not huge.  I weigh 118 (that’s what it said last time I worked out) and I’m about 5’5″, and she’s about 130 pounds and 5’6″.

Anyways, I thought I’d make a list of workout goals for myself.  These might seem hilarious to you, but I’m extremely lazy so this would be a lot for me. Then my goal would be to update you all every so often on this, so that I can track myself. Here’s what I’m going to start with:

  1. 50 situps a day
  2. 50 pushups a day
  3. Run 3 miles at least twice a week
  4. Take my big dog for a loooonnnngg run at least once a week
  5. Do all sorts of lifting, lunges and the like

Do you have any fitness goals?

And I’ve been going blog giveaway crazy (I’m guessing this is part of my frugal craziness), but check out Places to Go, Things to See’s giveaway!  Also check out Emily’s giveaway!

I have some fitness goals… about once or twice a year. Can't seem to keep them for long enough. I need to start running in the afternoons and walking to/from work (40min), now that it isnt 100 degrees. Wish I had a dog. As far as you being lazy, worry not. The problem is actually getting started. After you get started, it doesn't matter if it's 10 pushups or 100. The act of getting ready and started is the main problem. And getting started every day. But you can do it! Make it a goal to track your progress/achievements.

I think your fitness goals are really commendable, just be careful not to expect too much too soon. But I find it a little hard to believe you're eating that many calories. Are you ssuuuurrree you're counting right?

WOW!!! If I ate that many calories I'd weigh as much as a house ( I'm already 1/2 a house…lol). Your very lucky to be blessed with such a great metabolism. I wasted thousands on gym memberships and biggest loser type contests. I always pay in full so I'll go but I never do. I tried to pick up running but I'm lazy. I need to find some motivation within myself to make it happen. Good luck with your toning. Your goals are reasonable.

It is hard getting started. When I first got my membership, I went like 3 times a week, now it's just whenever I have time. I don't like to workout by myself because I can only work out at night time, and I'm a little too scared to be in the gym by myself (because there's usually just big scary guys at around midnight there). And also because last Christmas someone was chased from the bars all the way down to where my gym is and was shot dead (the police said the motive of the kids was just for "fun").And yes I know, no one ever believes us whenever we say we eat that much. We both snack A LOT and that adds up quickly. I also have a really fast metabolism. Most people would love a fast metabolism but I will literally fall down and feel extremely weak if I am not constantly eating. So that's why my calorie intake is so high. It runs on my dad's side of the family, he had to eat a lot also or he would get sick. I've even talked to my doctor about this before because I would get really bad migraines all the time and my doctor realized my migraines were partly from me not eating enough for my body. Anyways, here is an average day of what I eat. I'll eat cereal in the morning and make a sandwich for the drive to work. Then I snack of chips, bananas, or whatever I can all day pretty much. And I usually have a pack of Sweet Hawaiian rolls or croissants in my office also. Then for lunch I have something like a sandwich, salad, and bread from Panera, and once I get home I make dinner for myself and then I eat dinner again once the BF gets home from work.

Oh yeah and I eat a lot of peanut butter, bread, and pasta because it keeps me full longer, and those are all high calorie.

Holy moly, that's a lot of calories!!I'm 5'5", about 125, and I usually eat right around 2000 calories a day. Plus I go to the gym 2-3 times a week. 15-20 minutes of cardio, then 15-20 minutes of weights. It's not a lot, but I have so much more energy when I exercise on a regular basis. Having a gym reimbursement program through work is a great motivator as well. 😉

These are great goals! I'm with you on the calories thing. I'm 5'8" and 125, but I eat about 4,000 calories a day. I need this much to fuel my to & from bike rides to work plus my running.I'm currently training for my next marathon, so I'm sure I'll be eating more on days when I run my long runs.I think as long as you're listening to your body and incorporating exercise whenever possible, you can easily maintain a healthy body. But it is individual, much like finances..haha! :p
