I went grocery shopping today, and I don’t think I’ve gone for awhile. Maybe around 2 weeks?  I might be wrong, I have a horrible memory (as if you all didn’t know that yet).  Today I spent $83, which I don’t think is too horribly bad.  I’m trying to just go shopping every 2 weeks, as this helps with time and me not buying too much junk food.

My total today would have been A LOT cheaper, if I didn’t go grocery shopping when I was hungry.  EVERYTHING looked good.  I spent around $7 on guacamole and bought lots of croissants (around $6) and other little junk food things that sounded good. Big mistake, but at least I’ll be happy with the food I bought.

There’s also a Qdoba right next door to the grocery store, but thankfully I resisted the urge to walk in and get a burrito.

Anyways, this grocery challenge that I imposed on us has been going well.  $83 for two weeks is not bad.  I’ll of course run into the store and spend maybe $20 next week on bread, milk and some fruit, but this still isn’t too bad.  This will put our monthly food budget to around $250 a month! YAY! I can do this!

Me and the BF ate dinner in this whole weekend also! We did go out for drinks, but I consider that entertainment money, so in my head that doesn’t count.

How has your grocery shopping been going?

You did great! My shopping challenge has been going well. I spent right around $200 last month on food. I only cook dinner most days though and have tons of food in the cupboards so it's mostly dairy, meat, and produce that I need to buy.

I was so close to buying a 12 pack of croissants at Costco yesterday! I controlled my urges and didn't even walk over that direction. I love them and but I have tons of bread snack items in my freezer.

Great job! $250 for a month of food for two people is really good (especially now as it seems that grocery prices are skyrocketing!). Keep up the good work!

You did great. Our grocery shopping is doing ok since I went to once a week only – it's saves so much cutting out any interim shop visits!

you're an inspiration. I go grocery shopping every sunday and spend 100 always. Granted I cook every night, full on vegetarian meals for me and gluten free for him, it seems to be a challenge to bring down the budget. great post, love. I hope you had a wonderful weekend. I've got a brand new post on my recent stop to Rachel Zoe's favorite Beverly Hills spot. xoxo <a href="http://www.fashboulevard.blogspot.com” target=”_blank”>www.fashboulevard.blogspot.com

Great job on the grocery shopping budget!!We usually spend $250-300 per month on groceries, including non-food items. September we went over by about $75 for the month, but we started stocking up on non-perishables when they're on sale, hopefully lowering future grocery budgets. Plus we had a friend staying with us all of last week, so we had to factor in a 50% increase in our final grocery shopping trip. So all in all not too bad.Plus, we only went out to eat maybe once last month. So we ate a lot more meals at home, and the higher grocery budget was balanced out by a dramatically lower entertainment budget.
