I know it’s already Tuesday, but I figured posting my goals is better than having no goals.
  1. Make dinner everyday this week.
  2. Bring lunch to work everyday.
  3. Do not go grocery shopping except for milk and bread this week.
  4. Spend no more than $40 this weekend on going out.
  5. Leave the air conditioning or heat off no matter what. I’m really starting to hate that it’s getting to 95 degrees during the day and 35 degrees in the mornings. I think this should be done now but last week it was annoying.
  6. No more vending machine purchases before/between/after classes after I get off work.
  7. Do lots of ab stuff!

We did OK this past weekend with eating out.  We made meals as much as we can.  I had credit in my Groupon account (not sure why?) so I bought a Chevys Groupon, $10 for $20, and we used it on Saturday.  Our meal after the Groupon was only $6.77 (with tip), so I would say that’s quite a deal. Then on Sunday we were wanting Mexican again and we spent $20.31. We really want to eat in and save our money because we were still hungry both times after we ate out.

Also, I wasn’t feeling good on Saturday, so after Chevys, I let the BF run inside Walgreens to get me medicine. He bought $38 worth of Mucinex and sinus medicine! Never again will I let him go inside while I sit in the car.

Haha–I always wonder what happens when a guy enters any sort of store, especially the grocery store. I've seen my BF just toss whatever looks/sounds good in the cart without a single nod to what the cost is. I can also remember growing up when my mom couldn't let my dad do the grocery shopping because if she did, he'd come home with half the things on the list, twice the amount of junk, and spend three times the amount she usually did!

Ouch. Is he trying to hint at something? Or really really just wants you to get better… or not to send him to the store again.Great job on the going-out budget, though.

I hate cooking and sometimes it just feels easier to pick something up then making it. It's like its gonna either costs money or energy. Sometimes, I wish I had MORE energy. Such is life. And I'm all about weekly goals. I haven't made any this week, maybe thats why I don't feel as motivated. Need to make some!

$38 for Mexican food??? Yikes! That's the easiest and cheapest type of food that you can make! :)And I hope you feel better! I have a cold, too! Ugh!

Thanks everyone! He just hardly ever goes shopping for us, so I don't think he really knows the price of anything or what's a good deal. And we turned the heat on just now so I already failed.

I enjoy eating out, but we usually limit it to once a week. We have a $50 budget for the month, unless there are birthdays or other special events. We use coupons to go out or go when there are specials. Sometimes we split a meal. When we go out to lunch, we usually have enough left to last for dinner that night or the next day. We stay away from fast food places. We try to stretch our dining dollars by getting the best deals we can at he places we like. We don't get drinks or dessert and that saves a lot. As long as someone stays in their budget, I see no need to worry about it unless you aren't happy with what you are getting for your money.
