I’m splurging on my hair…

I’m finally getting my hair permed and cut.  I try and get a hair cut every 3-4 months, but I’ve never gotten a perm, so I’m a little nervous. My hair is stick straight and yes I know, many people would love to get out of the shower and their hair just be straight, but I honestly can’t stand it anymore.  I want CURLY hair!

And  I can’t curl my hair.  My hair can’t keep a curl to save my life.  I’ve tried to get it professionally done, but my hair would fall limp before I left the salon. My stylist is hoping that my hair will take hold of the perm without having to try repeatedly.

Well, not suuuuper curly, I’m just getting a wave perm.  Hopefully it’ll look something like the picture above.  I’m also getting bangs, which is also a big difference.

So, in the end I’m hoping for something like the hair above.  I hope it actually looks good.  This is quite the splurge.  Hair is one thing that I don’t mind spending money on, because I’ve had my fair share of bad haircuts.  The total will be around $150 with tip, so this is a lot of money to me.  I’ll keep you all updated, as my appointment is next week – just changed it to TODAY.

What do you not mind splurging on?

As a straight haired girl myself I'm right there with you! I have gotten body wave perms before, and if I didn't color my hair as well, I would still be getting them (too much damage together)! To make it look like above might require a little bit of curling, but just to give shape to a few pieces, and permed hair curls MUCH more easily. Good luck, post pics!

Thanks! Do you have any tips for maintaining my perm?

oh good luck, hope it turned out well! I just got a perm once as a teen and it didn't hold at all… my hair is super straight and fine.I too spend a lot of money on my hair, cuts are around $40 with tip, a cut and color is about $120-$130.

Hmmm… this reminds me, I haven't had my hair cut since May! Also, I hope you'll post before and after pictures!

Please post a picture, I'm curious to see how your perm turned out:) I think haircuts and good shoes are two things worth splurging on. I tend to lose track of how much I spend on cosmetics as well… I'm such a sucker for the 'free' gift with purchase.

I'll try and post pictures tomorrow. I can't wash my hair until tomorrow morning my stylist said, so right now my hair is a greasy mess. And Nikki, I know! I went to Estee Lauder the other day and spent too much, all because I wanted the free gift.

I am in no way against a lady splurging on her hair. I want to see the pictures as well.
