Today I went grocery shopping after work.  Usually when I go, I’ll try and randomly grab maybe 3 or 4 coupons (and I usually feel pretty happy with those savings).  Today I decided I would put my couponing skills to the test.

I brought a grand total of 10 coupons and my store had a $10 off day, so I ended up saving 73% off my grocery bill.  My total was only $18.88 for everything!  I’m very proud of the money I saved today.  Especially since we needed all of the stuff I bought.

What’s your monthly grocery budget? Do you use coupons?  Any couponing or grocery saving tips/hints should be posted!

Hi I really need to clamp down on our shopping and see how much we spend. Looks like you have got a big haul for a great price. x

good job! I have a grocery budget of around 250 per month – sometimes it is a bit bigger if there is a holiday or smaller if i need to use up what I have 🙂

Thanks! I would say this was my best shopping trip ever. I'm hoping to get my grocery budget down to $100. We eat out a lot since we are so busy all the time and we have opposite schedules, so we can't really eat at home together a lot.

I'm so bad about coupons!! I want to use them but I always forget =)It does look like you did an AWESOME job of shopping on the cheap. When I lived in California we'd go to this place called Max Mart which sold all of the essentials for super duper cheap. It was like Sams Club and BJs without the membership AND you didn't have to buy 5 years worth of supplies.

Thanks! It helped that I had free coupons for both of the tampon boxes, the shaving cream, and the razors. 🙂

we do most of our shopping at Fresh and Easy because they give us generic coupons (like $6 off $30, or $10 off $50) so we can get a good deal on fresh produce and staples for our house…Other than that, we don't really coupon because we don't get the paper and we don't buy a lot of processed food… but we will use then for dinning out… and we will use coupons at costco when they mail them out.We also try to acquire free gift cards for some of our household supplies and that helps us out.

I used to never coupon. I mainly coupon to get cheap quick food, makeup, and household stuff.

Those are amazing savings! Whenever I go to the store I can usually only get around 2-3 dollars off my total order if i’m lucky.

I slipped up again and haven’t been frugal. I saw some shoes, sneakers and a few shirts on sale. I’ve been ordering. It’s all good because I have a way of writing reviews as a way to possibly earn some of the $ gUaP $ back. 🙂
