DailyWorth published a new article yesterday.  You can find it here.

I love the Money Fix Series because it is very relate-able.

Stephanie has a budget shortfall of nearly $500.  She has cut nearly everything out she doesn’t need and she still has this shortfall.  The author of the article suggests that she find some part-time work.

I have been trying my hand at side gigs for about a month.

  • I secret shop for Best Mark (this has brought in more than $100 so far and I’ve only been doing this for less than a month)
  • I participate in online surveys (these don’t pay a ton, maybe around $3 per survey)
  • I’m also trying my hand at writing for Yahoo.  I have found it very hard to find myself to write for them though.  I have no motivation.  I need to change that.

Your turn:  Do you have a budget short-fall? What do you do to fix this? Do you have any part-time work?  Or freelancing gigs?

I've been trying the survey thing for the past 2 weeks and have yet to qualify for a survey. Oh well. A community of people who discuss easy ways of earning a little extra coin is here.

Yeah, it's very hard for me to qualify for surveys on many sites. I was recently asked to join Pinecone Research which is a great survey company. I think you have to be asked or referred though. I have gotten many samples and basically you are sitting on a survey panel. They have never once sent me a survey which I didn't qualify for. I just got 8 rolls of toilet paper in the mail the other day. My boyfriend laughed, but I can't turn down free stuff.

I teach piano lessons, do some consulting work for organizations I used to intern for, and I also serve as an Area Representative for World Heritage which is an organization that helps place students abroad with families here in the US. The pay is surprisingly helpful for the latter.

Surveys and secret shopping don't really pay much, if anything in Canada. But I have done tutoring and bookkeeping for extra income. I am also planning to get into freelance work. Do the articles for Yahoo pay? How did you get into it?

Yeah they don't pay a lot. I'm thinking about getting an actual part-time job but I don't know if I'll have time since I'm taking 12 credit hours this semester for my MBA and I work around 50 hours a week.I have only written one article for Yahoo and it paid $8.00 but I get a percentage of every 1,000 that view it. I was reading an article online and it when I clicked on the author, it said I could sign up to be a writer also. It's kind of difficult though, they pick and choose what articles they want. So you might write something and it might not get published. I don't know, that's just what I heard, I've only submitted one.

I am going to have to look into that. It is hard to get into freelancing if you have have nothing published so this may be a good way to get my foot in the door.

I’m learning today to have a greater appreciation for side hustling because during this coronavirus epidemic, side hustling harder than ever now by creating more quality content and staying determined to earning 100% living from doing what I love which is affiliate marketing. 🙂
