June Goals and Life Update – 4 Days Until the Wedding

June Goals and Life Update - 4 Days Until the WeddingHello everyone and happy June! May was a good month for me. I hope it was for all of you as well.

In May, I had my bachelorette party in Vegas, and Wes also had his bachelor party in Vegas, but we didn’t go on the same days. We also took a ton of fun bike rides and finished up a lot of wedding to-dos on our wedding list.

It is now June, which means that it’s probably the craziest month of my life.

Our wedding is just a few days away (June 7th), and I must be a crazy person for planning an over 200 person outdoor wedding on private property all by myself.  WHAT WAS I THINKING?

Oh well, I’m sure it will be a great time. I can’t wait! I’m hoping the weather will be great for us, please keep your fingers crossed.

Do you want to hear a funny/scary story as well? Yesterday, the wedding event rental company came out to the property where we are having our wedding, and they followed the wrong directions. I told them not to take the back way because it is impassable, even though GPS says that it is.

Well, they went the wrong way (the way I told them not to go), their truck got stuck in water and rocks, and they popped a tire. 3 hours later, a tow truck finally came to save the day thankfully though! It took the tow truck 3 hours to get him out though, as the back tire was popped on the truck and stuck in water. Before we used that tow truck company though, we did call one tow truck company and they told us “Good luck” and that they would not help us because it would be too much work…

I was really afraid that the rentals were going to get damaged (the driver told me he was in water so of course I believed him and freaked out!) and that I would be out of luck because the event company said that they were completely out of everything. GAH what kind of wedding would it be without tables, chairs, a tent, linens, and a dance floor?

Luckily it all worked out well and everything is now safe and sound on the property.

May Goals Update

  1. Make $13,000 in business income. FAIL. I was slightly under this goal at $12,747 for May business income. I did make over $13,000, but I had a lot of expenses this month that I had to pay for.
  2. Decide on our honeymoon. FAIL. We are thinking of going to Miami for a few days then going on a Caribbean cruise. What do you think? I mainly just want to go somewhere and relax because of all the craziness lately. We are also thinking about after Miami/the Caribbean, that we would go on a Florida road trip to see if we want to eventually move to Florida. If you live in Florida, where do you recommend?
  3. Run/walk 4 miles (4 days a week), and do some lifting/ab work. PASS. I have been doing really well with this, but I haven’t really seen any changes :( Stinks because I’ve been at it for 6 or 7 months and nothing has changed. Oh well, I will have to figure something out!
  4. Have a great bachelorette party! PASS. We have a blast! Read my Las Vegas recap here. I spent less than $300 altogether on this trip!

June Goals

  1. Make $13,000 in business income. I am keeping my same income goal from last month. I don’t know if I will reach it because of the craziness of the wedding, but I’m going to try.
  2. Go on a honeymoon. Even though it’s not fully planned, I do still want to go somewhere this month. ANYWHERE with a beach and yummy food will do!
  3. Run/walk 4 miles (4 days a week), and do some lifting/ab work. I still want to keep this up. I do want to add in a few bike rides each week as well. Last week we did nearly 20 miles just in one day and it felt great!
  4. Have a fun wedding! The wedding is in a few days so I just need to relax and have some fun.

How did you do in May? What is your main goal for June?

Have you been doing well with your income, spending and being healthy?

Happy June to you too! Glad that all the stuff arrived in the end – that must have been such a stress! Hope you have a lovely wedding day :) good luck with your June aims! I think your honeymoon plans sound good – taking some time to relax is always a good thing.

We are definitely thinking all-inclusive but usually we never leave the resort when we do that. We like to explore as well! So I guess it just depends on where we end up going.

Yes, thankfully there’s only a few more days of it. Right now the weather forecast says severe thunderstorms for Saturday. I’m hoping the wedding isn’t rained out!

I’m glad everything turned out okay with the rentals! I don’t get why some people can’t just follow simple directions. I hope the weather is great for the weekend! For June, I’m focusing on trying to get into more of a routine working from home.

Good luck with the wedding. I hope the weather cooperates.

My goal for June is to increase the income from my blog, but since it’s only a few months old I can’t really decide what the increase will be. More than last month is good enough for me.

For our honeymoon a few years ago, we went to Florida for a few days (Ft. Lauderdale) and then did a cruise to Key West and Jamaica! It was so relaxing, and I would definitely recommend. Good luck deciding and happy wedding!

The situation with the rentals would’ve totally stressed me out, glad it all worked out! Good luck with the wedding and remember to take a moment to enjoy it all! :)

Wow, great job on all the income while planning a wedding! You are a super hero :) I think the honeymoon plan sounds nice and relaxing. Have a great wedding!

Yes, send me an email about Florida suggestions. I would really appreciate it and so would Wes :) I was actually hoping that you would say that haha.

Wow, only you could actually achieve a goal of $13k business income! For your honeymoon have you considered Cancun? I went there in March for spring break (my wife is a teacher otherwise I wouldn’t have gone then – way too busy!) and it was awesome. The resorts there are beautiful

I love the FL Keys! I’m a bit biased because I was born in Key West but never got to grow up there so every chance I get, I visit my “home” – A tip if you go to the Keys. You may want to stay in middle or upper keys (Tavernier – Marathon range). It’s much less touristy and more laid back. Visit Key West for 1 or 2 evenings for some action and to check out Mallory square at sunset.

Maybe to get over your fitness plateau you could mix it up and focus more on HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) and more lifting (lift heavier). And make sure your diet is on point – No matter how much you exercise you can’t outexercise a poor diet. Abs are made in the kitchen. you’ve heard it all before I know. :)

    Hi Michelle!

Omg!! An early congrats for tomorrow!!!! Wishing you all the best for a beautiful day. Enjoy everything!!

Just wanted to chime in about Florida :) I live in Ft. Lauderdale. If you are going to do a road trip these would be my 3 spots to plan around
    1. Key West: so many cute B&Bs or resorts with spas to relax. Overall, great place and a must!
    2. Captiva & Sanible Island (West Coast): Such a special place. PERFECT place to relax, nice beaches, so cozy and quaint!
**If you hit Orlando for Disney & Universal, check out the town of Celebration. Just a small picture perfect town.
    3. St. Augustine: Oldest city in US. Very cool place, great B&Bs.

If you are looking for a good resort in Ft. Lauderdale near the cruise port, my favorite is Marriott Harbor Beach.

Feel free to send me an email if you want any other recommendations!!

    Enjoy!!!
